Guys Tower

Close to the Shard in London Bridge is Guy’s Tower (now known as the Tower Wing), part of Guy’s Hospital. In stark contrast to that of its modern neighbour, it’s an example of British Brutalist architecture, along with other landmark London buildings the National Theatre, Centre Point and the Barbican. Opened in 1974 and standing at 142 metres it was the tallest hospital building in the world. The external structure is currently undergoing a complete refurbishment.
