Millennium Dome
Following the clearance of the Greenwich Peninsula in South East London The Millennium Dome was originally built to house the Millennium Experience, a large number of exhibits and attractions connected to living in the year 2000. Open to the public for one year the exhibition was a financial failure and further tainted an already heavily criticised project.
Following a major refurbishment of the complete internal structure the site re-opened in 2007 as The O2. A complex containing bars, restaurants, cinema and the O2 Arena, a 20,000 seat capacity multi-purpose indoor stadium.
