The Barbican

Love it or hate it, The Barbican Estate and Barbican Centre are further examples of British Brutalist architecture. Other landmark London buildings in this style are the National Theatre, Centre Point and Guy’s Tower. Located in the City of London the three residential tower blocks, designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon, have been a feature of the cityscape since 1969. Opened in 1982, the Barbican Arts Centre contains a theatre, cinema, art gallery and is home to the London symphony orchestra.
