The Cheesegrater

Nicknamed the Cheesegrater due to its unusual wedge shape, the Leadenhall Building is a further addition to the continually changing skyline of the City of London. Designed by architect Richard Rogers, he also designed another landmark building of the City, the Lloyd’s Building. A distinctive feature of both buildings is the exterior glass lifts, allowing occupants fantastic views of the cityscape.

  • London Wide

As a cityscape photographer, I’m often asked “what building is that?”. The London skyline is evolving so rapidly, it can be hard to keep pace with all the new additions. To answer that question I’ve built this ‘enhanced gigapixel’ – where information is overlaid onto the image. You can click on an info point to…

  • London from The Leadenhall

London is so vast, and such a city of architectural extremes that each new vantage point on high gives a new perspective on the familiar. Even within the square mile, the skyline shifts and provides something new to fascinate. When I first lived in London, Tower 42 was known as the Natwest Tower (the shapes…
