Waterloo Bridge

Situated between Blackfriars Bridge and Hungerford Bridge, Waterloo Bridge first opened in 1817 as a toll bridge across the River Thames, London. Erosion took its toll on the on Bridge’s foundations and it was finally deemed irreparable in the 1920’s. The new bridge, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott and constructed by Peter Lind & Company, opened in 1945.

The positioning of the bridge on a bend in the River Thames affords great panoramas of the City of London, Canary Wharf, the Houses of Parliament, the South Bank and Westminster.
